Balanced breeding for future beef cattle requirements

The increasing pressure on beef cattle producers to meet customer requirements be largely overcome by establishing clear breeding objectives. That was the message delivered by breed develop, ment manager for the Angus Society of Australia. Peter Parnell, at the Beef Improvement Association sponsored BeefCheque conference at Traralgon, Victoria, earlier this year. Parnell Gas confident that producers could vastly improve their ability to successfully meet the changing market requirements for beef ifthey followed a carefully designed selection plan.
