摘要

The article Vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) of undiagnosed dizziness [1] is interesting in that it offers a new modality of a relatively easy to implement test of the inferior vestibular nerve. The authors indicated that inter- and intra subject variability of VEMP amplitude is relatively high. One of the main contributing factors to this variability is the degree of EMG variability due to patients' effort to keep SCM contracted during the test. The authors however did not mention if the EMG signal was monitored or recorded or if it was factored in the results of the study. Currently, the most stable and clinically useful measure of VEMP is the p13-n23 latency and it would have added more strength to the paper. I thank the authors for their contribution and response.
