Shares in Australian Magnesium Corporation (AMC) rallied 20 percent in October on the back of three positive market and customer announcements At the same time, the company's principal engineer Leighton Contractors made solid progress at the Stanwell site of AMC's 97,000 tpa magnesium smelter, with earthmoving activities virtually completed. The flurry of announcements from the developer of the dollar 1.4bn smelter include a new sales contract, an alliance with a European component manufacturer, and the development of a patented alloy for use in engine blocks.
