A little further north pays big dividends

The Wise brothers, David, Geoff, and Murray, moved from Victoria in 1976 to take up a block on Queensland's Darling Downs. They sold 570 hectares on the Murray River at Brimin near Rutherglen to buy 1200 hectares at Bowenville, east of Dalby. It's been a very wise move. Expansion was impossible at Brimin but there have been no such barriers at Bowenville. The original 1200 hectares has become a 4650 hectare cropping enterprise dominated by sorghum and wheat.
