Crystallography concerned with length scales in the 100 - 1000 Angstrom range is proposed to be called 'mesocrystallography'. One problem of mesocrystallography that will be given attention here is that of the early stages of the formation of coexisting phases in (CH3)(4)NGeCl3. An attempt is made to explain the phenomenon.
