How to extract the surface contribution from an electron spectroscopy experiment? Methods and discussion. The extraction of the surface contribution in surface analysis experiment is a serious problem. In fact, this contribution is usually mixed with that of the volume. In this work; the approach leading to the pure surface contribution for different surface techniques will be presented and discussed: low energy electron diffraction (LEED), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), elastic peak electron spectroscopy (EPES), electron energy lossed spectroscopy (EELS). The advantages and the limitations of each technique are also discussed. [References: 24]
