Anadarko to buy Kerr-McGee

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation,with assets primarily in the US,is to acquire Kerr-McGee Corporation for 16.4 billion.Kerr-McGee,with core properties in deepwater Gulf of Mexico and onshore Colorado,continues to develop and explore Bohai Bay,China,where it holds four adjoining blocks totalling 1.7 million gross acres with four CFD-11 fields in production (AOG November/December 2004).
