Soco international has had encouraging results from its 2002 drilling progamme in contract area 19 of Mongolia's Tamtsag Basin,an appraisal and two exploration wells all encountering oil.The 19-15 well,the first drilled after the programme got underway in Augst,located about a kilometer east of the otamo 19-14 well, a 2001 discovery now producing from the Tsagantsaav Sands,reached a TD of 2579m,identifying 27m of oil shows at about 2000m.
