Mitsubishi Gas Chemical (MGC) is considering building a methanol unit in Sungai Liang, Brunei, a source close to the company told ACN last week. The company has not decided on the capacity of the plant. But the source said MGC is considering building on its own either a standard-sized lant with a capacity of around 850 000-1m tonne/year or a world-scale facility with a capacity of about 1.65m tonne/year. Most of the output from the unit would be exported.
