State's BPU approves $95 million to boost PSE&G's energy efficiency programs

NEWARK—Hospital officials have more important things to worry about than their HVAC systems or insulation. That's one reason Public Service Electric & Gas Co. has invested millions of dollars into helping hospitals become more energy efficient, according to a PSE&G spokesman. The utility company has spent $ 170 million to support more than 30 hospitals, spokesman Fran Sullivan told American Gas. With the recent approval by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities for a new $95 million program, PSE&G can probably help a dozen more, meaning it will have reached pretty much every hospital in its coverage area.
