Citigroup has upgraded its earnings forecast for Japan's Ube Industries because of the strength of the company's plastics and chemicals businesses.Citigroup now expects Ube's fiscal 2005/2006 operating profit to come in at Yen41bn (USus344m).This is up 26.9% year-on-year and compares with Citi-group's earlier Yen39bn forecast and Ube's own Yen38bn forecast.
