TCLEE Delegation Attends Conference In Beijing, Holds Workshop In Chengdu

Delegates from ASCE'S Technical Council on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering (TCLEB) attended the 14th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering, which 'was held in Beijing October 12-17. They also conducted a workshop in Chengdu, China, on lifeline damage and measures to mitigate it. Chengdu is in the province of Sichuan, which in May of this year experienced an earthquake that leveled cities, cut off lifelines, and claimed the lives of approximately 87,000 people.
