Saudi Arabia acquires 40.7 % of Gulf exports of steel products

Saudi Arabia has been at the forefront of the countries of Gulf Cooperation Council GCC) in the exports of iron and steel products. Its exports accounted for 40.7% of the total exports of the GCC countries followed by UAE for 22%, Qatar for 19.3%. According to a study made by the Gulf Industrial Investments Corporation, the reinforcement steel product and the special iron and steel shapes accounted for a significant percentage of the exports of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, while the exports of the steel scrap accounted for a big percentage of the UAE's and Kuwait's exports, indicating that UAE comes at the forefront of the GCC countries in terms of the volume of the total imports of iron and steel products. Their imports amounting to 5.6 million tons accounted for 39.2% of the total imports of the GCC countries of iron and steel products.
