摘要

Questioned by AOGM on 9 March about the forecasts for world oil demand published by Wood Mackenzie in February, Mr. John Waterlow, Principal Demand Analyst at the Edinburgh-based consultants, indicated that, given the increasingly pessimistic perception of world economic conditions, demand projections had been revised down one after the other. In this area, he said, "we are looking for the bottom, but we clearly have not found it yet". The forecasts produced by Wood Mackenzie in February were significantly more pessimistic than those of the International Energy Agency (IEA) or the United States Department of Energy, but since then these last two organizations have updated their assessments.
