Government Issues a Prequalification Notice for Gas Gathering and Processing Franchises

After commissioning the preparation of a master plan for natural gas, in early November the Nigerian government initiated the process that is due to result in substantial investments being made in the gas infrastructure of the Niger delta region, which represents a key element of the overall plan. The federal Ministry of Energy (Gas) has invited suitably qualified companies to express an interest in seeking prequalification as core investors for one of three "franchises" - the term used by the Ministry - being offered to the industry. Investing in these franchises (see below) implies the installation of an ambitious gas gathering and wet gas processing network. Expressions of interest have to reach the Ministry by 21 November, 6.00pm.
