Teesside biomass CHP plant reaches fnancial close

UK biomass developer MGT Power and Australian banking group Macquarie have reached fnancial close on ￡900mn ($1.165bn) of funding for the 299MW Tees Renewable Energy dedicated biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plant. Construction at Teesside plant in the UK is due to start imminently and will be completed by 2020, Macquarie said. Site preparation will begin within weeks and construction will start a few months later, MGT said.
