A reaudit of current febrile neutropenia practice in UK paediatric oncology centres prior to implementation of NICE guidance

In September 2012, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) published 'Neutropenic sepsis: prevention and management of neutropenic sepsis in cancer patients'.1 No national guidelines for the management of neutropenic sepsis in children have been previously published. In 2008, the Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group produced a framework document for the treatment of febrile neutropenia (FN), based on a literature review, and a Delphi survey.
