Impulse: the burst of development

Impulse Breech Plant of Shostka was founded in 1848. Throughout many decades, the plant has been among cornerstones of ammunition producing industry. The plant has preserved its power up to this day with its almost monopolist position in production of high-quality capsule articles. It is the only Ukrainian and one of the few world producers of fulmination agents for explosive charges in mining industry, geological prospecting, oil and gas production, construction and metallurgy, as well as non-ore materials production. As the Soviet Union economic structure collapsed, the plant's team did not give up among hardships, although the plant's rean-imation did not happen in a moment. The managers had to present proves of the plant's importance in the state economy and answer the trust of Ukraine's President Kuchma. Employees of the plant appreciate his timely interference in the plant's problems. The company regained its once lost positions on the domestic market of fulmination agents and gradually entered foreign markets. In the short run, it helped renew fixed assets of the plant and improve equipment, which is being engineered by the plant itself because of specific features. The plant got rid of enormous debts. 14-month wage arrears back six years ago totaled UAH 2.5 mn, but today the plant's employees receive salaries on time and have no claims from tax administration and budget committees of any level.
