New ways of calculating compact planetary gear units --Optimizing of planet carriers, bearings and planet gears

By using high-strength materials, modern finite elements methods and modified bearing calculationsextremely compact multi-stage planetary gear units can be realized. The compactness requires anextensive analysis of the gears and above all the planet gear bearings. By using modified parametersat the extended calculation of cylindrical roller bearings the life and the power density can beincreased.
