Communication Behaviour and Mass Media Possession by Rural Women Regarding Vegetable Cultivation Practices in Hisar and Bhiwani Districts

The present study was conducted in four villages i. e. Bhimnagar, Pali, Milkpur and Bawanikhera of Hisar and Bhiwani district, respectively of Haryana state in 2014-15. Fifty rural women who involved in vegetable cultivation practices from each village were selected purposively, thus comprising a sample of 200 women. Communication behaviour regarding vegetable cultivation practices of rural women, the overall input level in case of localite source of information was of high extent and family members/husband were the most frequently used localite sources. Information processing pattern of rural women was found to be of high level, whereas it was found to be of medium level in information dissemination pattern. Majority of the respondents possessed TVand cable TV followed by mobile as a mass media.
