Electricity problems force AHMSA to stop production

Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA), Mexico’s major steel producer, had to stop its production due to lack of electricity supply. The production losses totalled 15,000 t. AHMSA stopped its two steel plants and iron deposits of La Perla, Chihuahua, and Hercules, Coahuila, due to the lack of the high voltage supply. During three days, the stoppage led to the loss of 15,000 t of the production, according to the local media reports.
