Ukraine looks west for 2013 gas imports

Kiev—Ukraine’s plans to make Russian natural gas imports a thing of the past continue to pick up pace, as Kiev looks west for increased supplies from Germany through a new pipeline route via Slovakia and Hungary. Ukraine plans to import up to 7 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe via Slovakia and Hungary in 2013, on top of supplies coming from Germany via Poland.
