Brent Outage to Last Weeks

Royal Dutch Shell said Monday that pro- duction from its four Brent platforms in the UK North Sea will be shut in for several weeks to carry out repairs after an accident on one of the platforms (IOD Jan.19,p9). Shell evacuated all nonessential personne from Brent Bravo on Jan. 15 and halted pro- duction after a heavy protective fender fell into the sea. The other platforms - Alpha, Charlie and Delta - were also closed as a precaution. No one was harmed.
