Studies on leaf blight disease of Withania Somnifera (L.) Dunal

Aswagandha, as it is known locally, or Withania somnifera is extensively used in the Indian indigenous system of medicine for the treatment of leprosy, nervous disorders, intestinal infection and rheumatism due to its active alkaloids. It is a perennial crop. During the months of December-January, 1990-91, a leaf blight disease was observed to cause severe damage to the experimental field of the Regional Research Laboratary, Jammu.
