Houston—For the third time this week, no bids, offers or trades were reported in the US over-the-counter thermal coal on Wednesday. However, with August in the front-month position for the first day, prompt-month Central Appalachia rail (CSX) coal fell to its lowest level in nearly two years, but it still remains higher than coal delivered into Northern Europe. A broker reported interest for the second straight day for Central Appalachia rail (CSX and Norfolk Southern) coal, but no firm bids or offers were reported.
