Houston—A bid and an offer was reported Monday in the physical US over-the-counter thermal coal market for Powder River Basin coal. The bid and offer was heard for PRB 8,800 Btu/lb coal at $11.50/st-$12.25/st for the new October front-month. One broker commented on “possibilities” in the market, specifically for PRB and IB coal, but “nothing firm” as of yet.
