Evonik and Siemens commence research project on carbon dioxide-based speciality chemicals production

German firms, Evonik and Siemens, have launched the second phase of their joint research project, Rheticus. The goal of the project is to develop an efficient and powerful test plant that will use carbon dioxide and water as well as electricity from renewable sources and bacteria to produce speciality chemicals.
