We present a safe, inexpensive, and effective system of flow-controlled lumbar cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) drainage minimizing unpredictability of gravity systems and the need for electric devices. The system was used in one neurosurgical patient for treatment of a CSF fistula and in another patient scheduled for endo-vascular stent repair of a descending thoracic aortic aneurysm.
