As an Animal Technologist who has worked in the industry for nine years, the care and welfare of laboratory animals is something that is always in my mind. There are many factors that contribute towards optimising the care of animals in science, fromlaw and legislation all the way through to the practical aspects, such as the provision of environmental enrichment. Speaking as an animal technologist, I have chosen the two most important issues that I feel are crucial for the animals in our care.
