MX4 Gun - tradition versus technology

Body temperature measurement is generally recognised as a basic standard assessment tool in the monitoring of laboratory animals. Historically, the rectal thermometer is the established method for measuring core temperatures in laboratory animals, itis an invasive procedure. This poster investigates a non invasive method of body temperature measurement using two types of MX4 Infrared Thermometer Gun, the Raytek and the close focus Fluke.
