Some kinds of new non-flammable power capacitors have been developed in order to substitute for SF{sub}6 gas insulated capacitor, because the GWP(global warming potential) forces Japanese government to regulate the collection of SF{sub}6 gas in the disposed power apparatuses. There are some concepts of the insulating system for the non-flammable capacitors, for example the epoxy resin molded, the insulation by inert gases and the insulation by nonflammable fluids. We selected the insulating system using the non-flammable fluids, because the system has some advantages, such as the easy thermal design and the simple component of elements. This report shows the characteristics of the non-flammable fluids immersed power capacitor which we have developed.
