Nickel premiums have remained steady in the United States as stainless steel demand has slowed.Melting-grade premiums are still between 30 and 50 cents per pound while plating-grade premiums are 65 to 90 cents per pound, although some traders pegged premiums at the low end of the range. "It's probably closer to the 30s right now rather than the 50s," a U.K.-based trader said, while a U.S.-based trader estimated that the premiums for truckloads of cathode material are between 32 and 34 cents per pound.
