Silicon producer Globe Specialty Metals Inc. spent $17 million during its fiscal third quarter to acquire mining licenses for manganese ore in Nigeria. “We've got people over there on the ground right now. We will disclose further information as it becomes available,” Jeff Bradley, chief executive and chief operating officer of the New York-based company, said during a quarterly conference call with analysts Tuesday.
