摘要

September 11th did not happen just to New York City. In fact, it did not just happen to the United States. It happened to the whole world. When people say that their world changed that day, they don't just mean their everyday existence. I was very moved by the bravery of those who willingly shared their memories of September 11th in "Remembering September 11" (Sept., p. 30-33). But how is it that every single person quoted was from New York City? I find it very difficult to believe that not a single librarian from either the Washington, D.C., or Shanksville, Pennsylvania, areas was willing to relive their experiences of that day. Worse yet, I'm sure that there are librarians of Muslim or Middle Eastern heritage who also would have been happy to share their experiences of September 11th or its aftermath. Were they not asked or unwilling to be quoted? This article is unworthy of our profession.
