AWESTERN Downs feedlot that has been operating since the 1980s continues to provide income diversity and helps spread production risk on the Coggan family's large-scale farming property, Enarra, near Westmar. John and Lyn Coggan and their son and daughter-in-law Phillip and Cindy utilise the facility to finish stock for the 100-day grain-fed market. They set up the feedlot in the 1980s as a small finishing venture for homebred weaner steers and quickly built it up to a multi-sourced enterprise of 3000 head by 1991.
