摘要

Although non-chloride anti-freezing agent had not been used due to higher cost, its effect has been attracted attention from the viewpoint of extending service life of infrastructure in recent years. This study investigates reduction of corrosion rate on rusted steel plates due to sodium propionate, which is kind of non-chloride anti-freezing agent. As a result, it was shown that corrosion rate of rusted steel plates can be reduced to about 50% and rust becomes brittle and porous. It was suggested that the influence of chloride was eliminated since 6-FeOOH was not produced, which is formed in the presence of chloride.
