Design of the reactor internals of the high temperature engineering test reactor(HTTR)

The reactor internals of the HTTR support the core at the bottom and periphery. They consist of core support structures of graphite or steel and shielding blocks. The design of reactor internals ensures enough reliability by reflecting R&D results such as tests with mockup structures and elemental pieces, seismic tests for core bottom structures, nondestructive testing method for graphite structures, and the demonstration of the HENDEL-T2. When all the components were manufactured, the reactorinternals were temporarily assembled at the works to finally demonstrate the seal function.
