NUTRITIONAL PROBLEMS AND REMEDIAL MEASURES IN GROWN SEEDLINGS OF TECTONA GRAND1S, ACACIA MANGIUM AND ACACIA AURICULIFORMIS IN KERALA

A study was conducted to diagnose the nutritional disorders in the seedlings of teak and acacia grown in root trainers with organic potting media. The foliar symptoms and the.carterrt of nutrients in the leaves revealed that the disorders were due tothe deficiency of Fe and Cu. Foliar spray of 0 3% FeSO, was found effective in rectifying the symptoms of Fe deficiency and 1 % bordeaux mixture in rectifying the symptoms of Cu deficiency. The results of the study suggests a potting medium with the combination of coir pith and weed compost for proper nutrition of seedlings in root trainers
