GROWTH INHIBITION OF PC-3 CELLS BY CRUDE GLUCOSINOLATES EXTRACTED FROM BRASSICA OLERACEA PLANTS

Bone metastasis is common in prostate cancer.For those whose cancer has progressed beyond the primary site and into the bone,the chances of survival decrease due to the lack of treatments.It is acknowledged that nutrition is a key player in cancer risk;therefore,the control of cancer through dietary compounds has gained acceptance.Although treatments from either naturally derived analogs or naturally derived compounds have proven effective in the prevention of many cancers,few studies,if any at all,address the therapeutic ability of these naturally derived analogs or compounds in prostate cancer.We report the following results on growth inhibition of PC-3 cells of crude glucosinolates from green cabbage and broccoli.
