摘要

In the recent decades, the interest in using the aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) has enriched owing to its potential for replacing the traditional conventional materials in numerous industrial applications. In the present article, review on various types of novel state casting processes such as compo-casting, stir casting and in-situ casting methods. The AMCs are mostly prepared in three types of casting processes like liquid state casting, solid state casting and semi-solid state casting. Conventional castings processes are more complicated, inflexible and it is not suitable for mass production and defect free production. Therefore the researchers start using the novel liquid state casting process. In particular, this paper reveals the mechanical and tribological properties of AMCs prepared in compo-casting, stir casting and insitu casting technique.
