Quantitative analysis of flowback data provides an early opportunity to interpret hydraulic fracture properties of fractured wells in unconventional reservoirs. In recent years, a number of studies have been dedicated to the analysis of single-phase flow data prior to hydrocarbon breakthrough and multi-phase flow data after hydrocarbon breakthrough during flowback.
