Evaluating Life Extension from a Narrative Perspective

Although Partridge and colleagues (2009) offer no normative argument about whether life-extension and anti-aging technologies ought to be developed, the public attitudes and responses collected and discussed in the article are illuminating. In particular many of the responses suggested an internal argument taking place within participants who personally found value in developing life-extending technologies for coveting a longer, healthier life span but worried deeply about the impact of everybody extending their life spans creating social and justice problems for a longevityenhanced society.
