Editors' Introduction to special issue on mathematics coaches

摘要

Attention to the impact of mathematical coaches on teacher professional development is needed. The papers in this volume provide an important historical description of the coaching movement in the United States as well as up-to-date knowledge on practices engaging coaches in working with teachers for improved mathematics instruction. We thank the editors Aimee Ellington, Joy Whitenack, and Christine Trinter for their pioneering work in bringing together the relevant research that describes the coaching movement.
