63~(rd) Anniversary of the Independence Day

Let me first extend my greetings to you all, on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the independence day of our country. This morning, we have assembled here not only to take a collective pledge to preserve the honour and dignity of our national flag and pay our homage to those who have made supreme sacrifices for the sake of freedom of our country. We also salute the members of our armed forces, who provide the security of our country. We take this opportunity to take stock of what we have achieved in the recent past. Our mandate is very clear. Our work towards the growth of nuclear energy for power production and non-power applications should lead to improving the quality of life of our people, and we remain dedicated towards enhancement of national security and keeping our country in the forefront of nuclear science and technology. Let me cite a few examples to illustrate some of the notable development work carried out and achievements made recently.
