Total and Sonangol are deciding on a bidding strategy for the US $1 Bn Dalia Defoottlenecking project off Angola as Doris comes to a close on its contract. Dalia Debottlenecking's aim is to counteract declining production from the ageing field in Block 17 via a brownfield revamp of the FPSO. As previously revealed by AOG (see 12 March 2015), Doris won the contract for detailed design and procurement services. This is now near completion and Total is in discussions with national oil company Sonangol over the future bidding strategy. The choices include keeping on Doris in charge of engineering and procurement and going out to bid for a construction contractor, using this strategy but also bidding to potentially replace Doris and the final choice is simply to go out for a full engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract.
