Hess said it must file a declaration of commerciality and plan for development of its FPSO project off Ghana by the middle of next year after completing an encouraging appraisal campaign. The US independent has regularly been coy about plans for its seven discoveries in the Deepwater Tano Cape Three Points block but said yesterday that the "results are encouraging" from the recently completed three well appraisal campaign and that there was no need for further drilling. The drilling involved two more wells on the Pecan oil find alongside a drill stem test and a final appraisal well on the oil prone Almond find.
