Noteworthy offshore mollusks from the north-central Gulf of Mexico, including geographical extensions and a generic reassignment

The Gulf of Mexico is our North American Mediterranean, being shared only by the United States and Mexico. It is a relatively enclosed body of water, with outlets only through the Yucatan Strait and the Strait of Florida. This makes it a very interesting body of water concerning its biota, not only for the possibilities of endemism but also for the unexpected occurrence of certain species. Having been given the great opportunity of participating in many campaigns in the Gulf on board the R/ V Pelican, and having had access to unique collecting areas, I have been sharing my findings with the malacological community.
