摘要

Thanks to an academic grant from the Concholo- gists of America, I was able to travel to the Canary Islands (Islas Canarias) and conduct field research that is the main component of my master's thesis at the University of Cincinnati. I spent 4 weeks collecting 33,233 snail shells from 60 localities with several colleagues. Having been identified, counted, and curated, they are now housed in the University of Cincinnati's malacological collection, which includes the most (and increasingly) complete collection of Canarian land snails in the world.
