My trip to the Indonesian island of Bali, to shoot at the Tulamben shipwreck, actually started off as a family holiday. My mum had been badgering me to take some time off, so I finally said I would - with the proviso that she would allow me to do a diving class and get my open-water divers'licence. Of course, being a photographer, I couldn't let the opportunity to do a photo shoot slip by. I had shot underwater before, but only within the confines of a swimming pool. This had already prepared me for the fact that everything is more complicated underwater. Knowing this, it was vital that I had a strong team around to help me pull off this shoot.
