The full force of the Covid-19 pandemic hit global jet fuel demand in April, when consumption plunged by 70% versus year-earlier levels to 1.1 million b/d in a group of representative countries. No region was spared the damage from mass flight cancellations. The US market saw a 60.5% contraction, while hard-hit European usage plunged by 84% with Italy down by the widest 92% margin as it battled the virus. Canadian jet demand dropped 84% while Australia/New Zealand saw shrinkage of more than 70%.
